The manufacturer's document controls if anything here differs from it. Terms can change between revisions, so confirm the current version against your order paperwork.
Quaker Windows & Doors is a Missouri manufacturer whose vinyl and aluminum-clad wood windows show up in Treasure Valley homes through builders and regional dealers. We are not a Quaker dealer, but we service and replace enough Quaker product to have read the warranty closely. It is a clear, well-organized document with reasonable material terms and two features that set it apart from the brands we carry: a one-year labor term, and no transfer to the next owner at all. Here is the June 2024 residential document, which the Quartz Luxury Collection shares word for word.
Who Is Covered, and When the Clock Starts
The warranty is made solely to the original homeowner at the time of purchase, for as long as that homeowner owns and resides in the home. It is non-transferable and non-assignable. A rental, a condominium or a spec home before its first sale falls under Quaker's separate commercial document with shorter terms. Every period begins on the date of substantial completion or six months after delivery to Quaker's customer, whichever comes first, so on a long build the terms can start running before anyone lives in the house.
Glass: Twenty Years, With an Altitude Rule
Factory-installed insulated glass is warranted against manufacturing defects for twenty years. Stress cracks are covered for one year. Laminated glass, blinds or shades between the panes, and oversized units are ten years. Special glazings are not covered, and glass imperfections that cannot be readily seen from ten feet, or that fall within ASTM and supplier tolerances, are not defects.
The altitude rule matters in Idaho. Products installed above 3,000 feet are subject to maximum glass size and thickness limits, and above 3,500 feet a factory capillary tube must be used and the glass warranty is limited to ten years. Exceed the altitude limits and there is no glass warranty at all. The Boise valley, at roughly 2,700 feet, gets the full term; the mountain markets do not. Quaker does not warrant the amount of argon in the unit at any time and notes that it dissipates faster through a capillary tube.
Frames, Finishes and Wood
Vinyl frames and sash are warranted for twenty years not to peel, rot, flake, blister or corrode under ordinary conditions, void if the product was stored improperly, painted after delivery or altered. A painted vinyl finish is ten years against cracking, peeling, chalking, blistering, flaking and fade beyond six delta E, down from fifteen years in the 2022 document. Renolit exterior films are ten years against color change and delamination. Interior laminates are ten years.
Aluminum finishes follow the AAMA classes: 2605 paint for twenty years, 2604 for ten, anodized for five, each measured against a fade limit of five Hunter units, a gloss retention floor, a chalk rating and no cracking or peeling. Micas, metallics and high-chroma reds, oranges, blues and yellows carry shortened periods or require a clear topcoat, and any modification to the exterior finish ends coverage.
The TimberVu and TimberLine wood-interior series add Quaker's OptiCore promise: the interior wood cladding will not rot or decay from exterior moisture for as long as the original homeowner owns and lives in the home, provided the window is maintained and any weatherstrip or hardware problem is addressed. Rot from interior condensation is excluded. The factory-applied wood finish is warranted for only one year, and exposed wood must be painted or sealed within thirty days of installation.
Hardware and Labor
Non-electric operators, locks, lifts, balance systems, hinges, handles, rollers, insect screens, weatherstripping and exterior trim are warranted for ten years, if the hardware is returned to Quaker and confirmed defective. Anything not on that list, which by omission includes electric and motorized operators, is one year. Doors are warranted ten years against warp, bow, cup or twist beyond a quarter inch, with Quaker allowed to defer a decision for a year, and doors over 84 inches without a factory multi-point lock are not warranted against warp.
Quaker chooses whether to repair, replace or refund. If it repairs or replaces, the cost of associated labor is covered for one year, after which Quaker is not responsible for labor or installation and may satisfy its obligation by delivering replacement products to the selling dealer. Labor to gain access to the product, the sheetrock, casing or exterior obstacles, is excluded at any time. A repair or replacement does not extend the term.
Exclusions and Claims
The exclusion list is thorough and installation-heavy: high-humidity rooms, failure to finish exposed wood within thirty days, synthetic stucco without drainage, field mulling and field finishes, spray foam not applied to AAMA 812, improper flashing or sill pans, an interior side exposed to precipitation, a missing quarter-inch sealed gap at the exterior finish, incompatible sealants, aftermarket films, harsh chemicals including brick wash, shipping damage, and products not paid in full. Condensation, frost, mold and mildew are not covered. Field testing must follow AAMA 502 or 511 with two weeks' notice. Quaker's liability is capped at the purchase price, and any legal action must be brought within one year.
Claims must reach Quaker immediately and in no case more than one year after a defect is discovered or should have been. Quaker may ask for the purchaser's name and address, the purchase date, the dealer, and the sales order number from the factory warranty sticker on the frame, and it may charge for an inspection that finds no defect. Homeowners are directed first to the Quaker dealer who sold the windows, then to the service request form on quakerresidentialwindows.com or 800-347-0438.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Quaker warranty transferable when I sell my house?
No. The document is made solely to the original homeowner at the time of purchase, until that homeowner no longer owns and resides in the home, and it says in so many words that it is non-transferable and non-assignable. A buyer of a home with Quaker windows has no manufacturer coverage, regardless of the windows' age. That is the single biggest difference between Quaker and the vinyl lines we carry, where Milgard passes ten years to a later owner and Andersen passes the full remaining term.
Does Quaker cover labor?
For one year. If Quaker elects to repair or replace a defective product, the associated labor is covered for one year from the warranty start date. After that Quaker is not responsible for labor or installation costs and may satisfy the claim by delivering replacement parts to the dealer who sold the windows. Labor to gain access to the window, meaning sheetrock, casing or exterior obstacles, is excluded at any time. Note that the clock starts at substantial completion of the project or six months after Quaker delivered the windows to its customer, whichever came first, so on a slow build the labor year can be partly spent before you move in.
How does altitude affect the Quaker glass warranty in Idaho?
More than with most brands. Quaker's glass warranty is twenty years, but any insulated unit installed above 3,500 feet must have a factory capillary tube and the term drops to ten years. Above 3,000 feet the maximum size and thickness of the glass are also limited, and Quaker gives no glass warranty at all if those limits are exceeded. Boise sits at about 2,700 feet, so valley homes get the full twenty years. McCall, Cascade, the Wood River Valley and most of the mountain towns are above 3,500 feet, where Quaker glass carries ten years with tubes or nothing without them. Quaker does not warrant the argon fill at any time.
What is the OptiCore no-rot warranty?
It applies only to the TimberVu and TimberLine wood-interior series. Quaker warrants that the interior wood cladding will not rot or decay due to moisture from the exterior side of the window for as long as the original homeowner owns and lives in the home, provided the window has been properly maintained, including attending to weatherstripping and hardware problems. Rot from interior condensation is excluded, and so is the wood itself in the sense of finish: the factory-applied interior finish is warranted for one year, and bare or primed wood must be finished within 30 days of installation.
Can Wood Windows help with a Quaker window in the Treasure Valley?
For repair and replacement, yes. For a warranty claim, the route runs through the dealer who sold the windows or through Quaker directly at 800-347-0438 or the service request form on quakerresidentialwindows.com, which asks for the sales order number from the factory sticker on the frame, the dealer's name, the purchase date and a description of the problem. Quaker requires notice within one year of discovering a defect and may charge for an inspection that finds no defect. Wood Windows is not a Quaker dealer.
