This page summarizes Anlin Limited Double Lifetime Warranty, Residential Only ↗ (document 070124, revised products sold after July 1, 2024). The manufacturer's document controls if anything here differs from it. Terms can change between revisions, so confirm the current version against your order paperwork.
Anlin's warranty is the one homeowners quote to us most often when they call about a window we did not sell. The Double Lifetime name promises a lot, and the document mostly delivers it, with conditions that matter more in Idaho than in California. Here is the current residential document, which governs Anlin vinyl windows and Malibu patio doors sold after July 1, 2024, read alongside the earlier versions that cover the windows already in Treasure Valley homes.
The Promise
For an original purchaser who owns and occupies the home, Anlin will repair or replace any product that is defective in materials or workmanship free of charge, and the document states plainly that this includes the costs of all parts and expenses including freight and labor. The vinyl, the glass unit, the hardware and the screens are all listed at Limited Double Lifetime for the original owner and Lifetime for one subsequent owner. Coverage runs from the date of delivery to the original purchaser; documents before July 2024 ran it from the date of manufacture.
Exterior color has fixed terms: ThermaCoat exterior coatings twelve years against non-uniform color change, excessive cracking, pitting, warping, chipping, peeling, blistering or corrosion, and Capstock Designer Black frames fifteen years. Pet doors are two years. Anlin, in its sole opinion, decides whether repair is commercially practical; if not, it replaces the product or refunds the manufacturer price.
Glass Breakage
Anlin includes complimentary accidental glass breakage replacement for as long as the purchaser owns and continually occupies the home, and extends it to specialty glass including obscure, tinted, tempered and V-Groove. Laminated glass is excluded. The exclusions are the familiar ones: abuse, negligence, vandalism, civil disorder, a hazardous location, acts of God, structural failure, building settlement and improper installation. This is one of the most generous breakage terms among the brands we see, and it is the reason Anlin owners are surprised when we tell them Milgard now sells the equivalent as a paid upgrade.
The Transfer Condition
The warranty transfers once, from the original owner-occupant to the next owner-occupant, for that person's lifetime. The condition is a ninety-day notice: either party must notify Anlin of the ownership change within ninety days, by phone, mail or email, with both names, the address and the transfer date. The document says failure to comply terminates the warranty on the date the original purchaser stopped owning or occupying the home. Rentals and non-owner-occupied homes are not covered at all, because the definition of purchaser requires occupancy.
Older documents were less generous on transfer. Anlin windows made between 2009 and mid-2014 gave a subsequent owner only fifteen years from the beginning of coverage. If you own a home with Anlin windows from that era, the date of manufacture on the unit determines which document applies, and Anlin's warranty page publishes each version by date range.
Labor, and the Idaho Question
The residential document has no service territory and no dealer-network condition. On paper, an Idaho homeowner with Anlin windows has a written right to free labor on a covered defect. In practice, Anlin performs that labor through the contractor or builder who installed the product or through its own service network, and the closest Anlin dealers are not in Idaho. Anlin's own service request page warns that depending on when the windows were installed, labor fees may apply.
Anlin's newest documents point at where this is heading. The warranties effective September 1, 2026 for its Panoramic 100, Coronado 100 and Malibu 100 lines, and for commercial and non-owner-occupied buildings, define a Service Territory of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. Owners outside it are responsible for all inspection, labor, disposal and shipping costs, labor is limited to skilled labor, and no labor is owed when a complete replacement unit is shipped. Idaho is not in that territory. The residential Double Lifetime document has not adopted that language, but an Anlin owner here should confirm labor arrangements with Anlin on any specific claim rather than assume.
Exclusions
Anlin's exclusion list is compact: non-residential buildings; improper installation, storage, handling or maintenance; normal wear, weathering, abuse, vandalism and acts of God; paint, solvents, aftermarket films, fumes, mildew and salt-air corrosion; building settlement or structural failure; damage before installation is complete; hardware loss of function within two miles of salt water; non-drainable synthetic stucco walls; ThermaCoat damage from tree sap, bird droppings, acid rain, overspray or solvent cleaners. The residential document is silent on condensation, altitude and stress cracks, though the 2026 documents exclude interior condensation, decline to warrant gas fill and cover stress cracks for one year only.
Claims, and Where We Fit
For a covered defect, notify the installing contractor or Anlin directly at 1-800-899-4896 or service@anlin.com, and allow Anlin to inspect before anything is removed. Anlin asks for the sales order number, dealer, installation date, product series and photographs. Wood Windows is not an Anlin dealer and cannot open an Anlin claim for you. What we do is repair and replace Anlin windows and doors across the Treasure Valley when the problem falls outside the warranty, when the installing dealer is gone, or when a homeowner would rather replace a failing unit than wait. Call (208) 376-2200 and we will look at what you have.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Anlin's Double Lifetime Warranty actually mean?
Two lifetimes, two owners. The original purchaser who owns and occupies the home is covered for life on the vinyl, glass unit, hardware and screens, with parts, freight and labor included. That coverage can pass once, to the next owner-occupant, for that person's lifetime as well. A third owner has no coverage, and a home that becomes a rental loses it, because the document defines a purchaser as someone who occupies the home. Exterior color is a fixed 12 years and pet doors 2 years regardless of owner. The marketing name is True Double Lifetime; the legal title since July 2024 is Limited Double Lifetime Warranty.
Does the Anlin warranty transfer automatically when I buy a house with Anlin windows?
No. The transfer is conditional on notice. Within 90 days of the ownership change, either the seller or the buyer must notify Anlin by phone, mail or email with both names, the address and the transfer date. The document says failure to do so terminates the warranty on the date the original purchaser stopped owning or occupying the home. If you have just bought a Treasure Valley house with Anlin windows, call Anlin at 1-800-899-4896 before the 90 days run out. Registration at the time of the original sale is not required for coverage, but it makes the transfer easier to process.
Does Anlin cover labor on warranty repairs in Idaho?
The residential document says yes without geographic limits: the warranty includes the costs of all parts and expenses including freight and labor, and repairs are made by the installing contractor, builder or Anlin. Two cautions. Anlin sells only through dealers and performs service through them, and Wood Windows is not an Anlin dealer. And Anlin's newest documents, effective September 2026 for its 100 Series and commercial products, introduce a Service Territory of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, with owners outside it responsible for all labor and shipping. Idaho is not on that list. The residential Double Lifetime document has not adopted that language yet. Confirm labor with Anlin on your specific order before assuming.
Is accidental glass breakage really covered?
Yes, and it is one of the more generous breakage terms in the industry. Anlin replaces accidentally broken glass at no charge for as long as the purchaser owns and occupies the home, including specialty obscure, tinted, tempered and V-Groove glass. Laminated glass is excluded, and so is breakage from abuse, negligence, vandalism, civil disorder, acts of God, structural failure, building settlement or improper installation. Anlin, not the homeowner, decides whether to repair or replace.
Can Wood Windows service my Anlin windows?
We can repair and replace them, but we cannot file an Anlin warranty claim on your behalf because we are not an Anlin dealer. For covered defects, contact the dealer who installed the windows or Anlin directly at 1-800-899-4896, service@anlin.com, or the service request form at anlin.com. Anlin asks for the sales order number, dealer name, installation date, product series and photos. When a problem falls outside the warranty, when the installing dealer is gone, or when you would rather replace than wait, call us at (208) 376-2200 and we will look at the windows and quote the work.
