The Premium Vinyl V-4500 is JELD-WEN's top vinyl window line — a heavier-profile vinyl frame with fused corners, sold in ten-plus operating styles from single-hung to bay and bow. It sits above the V-2500 builder line and offers upgrades the cheaper series doesn't: the FiniShield exterior finish for darker colors, metal reinforcement at the check rail, and a broader glass menu including the SunStable, SunFlow, and SunResist Low-E packages plus an optional HeatSave interior coating.
JELD-WEN itself is one of the largest window and door manufacturers in the world — founded in 1960 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, now headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. That Oregon history matters locally: JELD-WEN was the default builder brand across much of the Northwest for decades.

Builder-installed JELD-WEN from the 1990s through the 2010s was usually a lower-spec series with basic glass that performs nowhere near these figures.
Why So Many Valley Homes Have JELD-WEN Windows
Drive any subdivision built in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, or Kuna between the mid-1990s and the mid-2010s and you will find JELD-WEN vinyl windows by the thousands. Builders liked the price and the regional supply chain. Most of those windows have now crossed the 15–30 year mark, which is when we start getting the calls: fogged glass from failed seals, sashes that won't stay up because the balances broke, locks that no longer pull the sash tight.

On the 15–30 year old builder-installed units common in Treasure Valley subdivisions, seals typically fail a few windows at a time — and once the first few go, the rest usually follow. At that age we generally recommend pricing whole-window replacement against piecemeal glass swaps; the math usually favors replacement.
