What the Terrain Series Actually Is
Terrain is the entry point to All Weather Windows' lineup, and the manufacturer says so plainly: fewest options, same Edmonton factory, affordable price. It is the tier All Weather sells to production builders across the Canadian prairies, which is worth a pause. A "builder-grade" window engineered for Edmonton and Saskatoon winters is built to a colder standard than the builder-grade vinyl most Treasure Valley subdivisions received in 2004. Above Terrain sit the Horizon Series (Alpine 6700, Ascent 6100) and the premium Apex Series.
Three current models:
| Terra 2700 | Terra 2750 | Terrano 2100 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Slider series | Slider series | Casement series |
| Styles | Slider, single-hung, picture | Slider, single-hung, picture, bay/bow | Casement, awning, fixed, picture, bay/bow |
| Frame notes | Integral nailing fin with extended flange, built-in drip lip, double-walled glazing stops; 4 1/2" and 6 1/2" jamb depths, stock sizes | Extended nail fin, accessory groove, optional renovation brickmould and rebate flange; sized for 2x4 walls | Interior-glazed with adhesive tape, triple-seal weatherstrip, integral nailing fin, brickmould options |
| Glass | Dual-pane Low-E argon | Dual or triple pane | Dual or triple pane, true 1/2" airspaces |
| Hardware | Encore White | Encore White or Wicker | Decore folding handle; multi-lock standard on casement and awning |
| Colour | White uPVC | White uPVC; brickmould in 8 colours | White uPVC |
Read the table this way: Terra 2700 is the new-construction slider, Terra 2750 is the same slider re-detailed for renovation work, and Terrano 2100 is the crank-out casement for anyone who wants a compression seal without a premium price. The stock-size limit on the 2700 comes from All Weather's 2019 catalogue; confirm current sizing with us, because it changes what the model can do in a replacement opening.
The Numbers That Matter
Glass sets the thermal result on any vinyl window, and Terrain draws from the same glass chart as Apex. All Weather's published centre-of-glass figures (imperial, Vision v4.0 simulations): dual-pane ComfortGain 180 with argon at COG U 0.26 and SHGC 0.69; dual-pane ComfortPlus 270 at U 0.25 and SHGC 0.37; triple-pane ComfortPlus 270 with two coatings at U 0.12 and SHGC 0.31. Whole-window NFRC ratings — the sticker a plan reviewer reads — run higher than these because they include frame and edge-of-glass. On a dual-pane Terra 2700 slider that gap can decide whether the unit meets Idaho's U ≤ 0.30 prescriptive requirement; on a triple-pane Terrano it is not a concern. We pull the NFRC number for every unit on the quote and print it there.
Air and water are rated under NAFS, with Performance Grades that scale with size; the residential class starts at PG15. The Terrano's interior glazing and triple weatherstrip are the same features All Weather uses on its premium casements. The Terra sliders rely on double-walled glazing stops and a drainage path the manufacturer redesigned for the 2750.
These are Canadian ENERGY STAR-certified windows under Canada's single national zone — roughly U ≤ 1.22 W/m²·K or an Energy Rating of 34 or better, a stricter bar than the US Northern zone's U ≤ 0.22. US certification depends on the exact glass package, so ask; we confirm it before the order goes north.
Terrain vs Apex vs Milgard Style Line and Trinsic
| Terrain (2700 / 2750 / 2100) | Apex (9100 / 9950) | Milgard Style Line V250 | Milgard Trinsic V300 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Corners | Welded frame | V-weld fusion-welded frame and sash | Welded | Welded |
| Triple-pane | Optional on 2750 and 2100 | Optional | Ask — availability varies by plant | Ask — availability varies by plant |
| Exterior colour | White only | Acrylic wrap, multiple colours | Several exterior finishes | Several exterior finishes |
| Warranty | 20-yr glass and vinyl; transfers on single-family homes | Same as Terrain | Full Lifetime for original owner; limited on transfer | Same as Style Line |
| Ships from | Edmonton, Alberta | Edmonton, Alberta | Western US plants | Western US plants |
Our honest read: Terrain wins on winter performance per dollar and on the casement option at this price. Style Line wins for a buyer who wants a slimmer frame, an exterior colour, and a domestic lead time at about the same cost. Trinsic is a different conversation — a look-first window — and Apex is what you buy when you want All Weather's cold-climate engineering with colour and custom sizing included.
Where It Fits in Idaho — and Where It Doesn't
Fits. Production builders and investors in Nampa, Caldwell and Kuna who need nail-fin windows in quantity and want a spec sheet stronger than the usual builder vinyl. A Cascade or McCall cabin on a tight budget, where a triple-pane Terrano 2100 delivers most of what the mountain asks for. Any whole-house replacement where the owner wants white windows, a real winter number, and no interest in upgrades.
Doesn't. Anyone who wants an exterior colour — every Terrain frame is white. Homes with oversized picture openings that the 2700's stock sizes can't cover. HOA neighbourhoods requiring dark exterior frames. Historic North End work, where vinyl itself is the wrong answer. And any buyer for whom a US-made product and a shorter lead time outweigh the thermal edge — we'll say so and quote a Milgard instead.
Cross-border reality applies here too: Terrain ships from Edmonton, lead times shift with season and customs, and we give you the current one in writing at quote.
Warranty and Service, Locally
Under All Weather's Canadian residential consumer warranty, insulated glass seal failure and vinyl components have been covered for 20 years, coatings on vinyl for 10, workmanship for two, and spontaneous glass breakage for one — with transfer to a new owner on a single-family detached house. A new Maintenance & Warranty Guide took effect August 4, 2026, and we verify the terms that apply to your order before you sign. The part that matters most in year twelve: the phone call comes to Garden City, and the people who installed the window — Wood Windows Inc employees, 46 years running — are the ones who fix it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Terrain Series cost installed?
Typical Treasure Valley installed pricing runs about $500–$800 per window for Terra 2700 and 2750 sliders and single-hungs, with the casement-style Terrano 2100 and any triple-pane package at the upper end. That's between the builder-grade replacement tier and the quality-vinyl tier on our cost guide. Every quote is a firm written number after a free in-home measure, and mountain jobs are priced per window the same as valley jobs.
Terrain or Apex — is the premium worth it?
It depends on what you're buying. Both use the same glass chart, so a triple-pane Terrano 2100 insulates about like a triple-pane Apex 9100. Apex adds V-weld fusion-welded frame-and-sash corners, exterior and interior acrylic-wrap colours, more brickmould and trim options, and custom sizing on every model. For a white window on a budget where winter performance is the point, Terrain is the smarter spend; for colour, custom sizes or a house you'll keep for decades, step up.
Terra 2700 or Terra 2750 for a replacement job?
Usually the 2750. The 2700 was designed as a new-construction slider — integral nailing fin, stock sizes, 4 1/2-inch and 6 1/2-inch jamb depths — and it shines when a builder is ordering forty of them. The 2750 takes the same slider and adds renovation brickmould, a rebate flange, an accessory groove and custom sizing, which is what an existing opening in a 1998 Nampa two-story actually needs.
How does Terrain compare to Milgard Style Line or Trinsic?
Style Line V250 is Milgard's value vinyl and Trinsic V300 its slim-frame mid line; both are built in the western US with a Full Lifetime Warranty for the original owner and shorter cross-border lead times. Terrain answers with triple-pane availability, a compression-seal casement at a value price, and a 20-year warranty that transfers to a new owner of a single-family home. Milgard wins on frame slimness and colour; Terrain wins on winter numbers per dollar. We carry both and quote them side by side.
